Attack of the Malicious Green Bitches

I sympathise with Daryl Pan, a.k.a. the hot young 6-pack possessin’ CLEO Eligible Bachelor cutie who seems to have made quite an entrance into the local AJ scene, regardless of whether he is aware of it, or wants it, for that matter.

New pictures of him have been appearing in the Hotbods section of Trevvy very, VERY frequently. I first noticed that a lot of the pictures were uploaded by the user Artemis, after which others joined in the “fun”.

Now, it’s one thing for people to post some sliiiiiiightly bitchy comments for pictures (no one person is everyone’s Viagra, after all! ) like

“he looks too young for me”;

“his shoulders are a bit disproportionate”;

“can’t see the bulge” etc.

It’s quite another when people start posting stuff on what they CLAIM to know/see/hear on the Hotbod, and make personal attacks! As with other hot gossip in life, all too often, the distinction between a Claim and a Truth is rapidly lost once the salvos continue. To illustrate,

So littlenipple starts off by makin’ the claim that Daryl was seen at Play. Whether or not he really was there is not the focus of my discussion, but rather, how that one simple statement developed into assumptions, more claims, more assumptions, and worse, personal attacks (be they against one anotther or Daryl)…

I was quite perturbed when I read kingedward20‘s rhetoric; generally speakin’, can’t a straight guy be comfortable enough with his sexuality to “hang out with all gay”? To say that such a person is “sick” seems to me (correct me if I’m wrong by all means) that either kingedward20 believes in “gays should only hang out with gays most of the time”, “straight guys should stay away from AJs”, or a varying combination of both.

Hmm…

And here’s an excerpt of what was found for another image (what win82 says is an exemplar of what I call purported, yet unverifiable ”truth”, and oh, jus’ look at dear morgaine‘s hasty conclusion!):

kingedward20 seems to have a case of the greens (in a BAD way) for Daryl or something, if you look at the comments he made. Ever the Holme-wannabe, I had a look at Mr. Diva’s profile, and lo and behold…

 

Am I the only one who’s impressed by his “muscled” 2.19m, 124kg frame or what?! O.o Gotta give some love 2 da honesty in his self-introduction too!

Should you ever read this dude, a big “thanks!” to you by the way for increasin’ my world knowledge; didn’t know Liechtenstein (“a tiny, doubly landlocked alpine country in Western Europe, bordered by Switzerland to its west and by Austria to its east”, accordin’ to good ol’ Wikipedia) existed, be it the word, or the location itself!

Artemis is decidedly another interestin’ character. He was one of the first (to my knowledge) to post many pictures of Daryl, yet you see him defendin’ his idol in the second excerpt. Of course, he could just be a fanboy tryin’ to undo the damage and potential agony he had caused Daryl indirectly, but hmm… I actually observed other things about this user, which shall only be made known to selected people; don’t wanna stoke the flames myself after all! >.<

One lesson all us closeted AJs can take away from this whole crap is this:

Goin’ to Play on Sundays (a.k.a. “Gay Night”) is as good as makin’ an unofficial ”declaration” to the world that you are gay/likely gay/mega gay-friendly (who the hell would think of this last option eh?), regardless of whether you really are one.

Guess you won’t see me at the clubs any time soon then!

In all seriousness though, the only reason he’s the focus of this post is ‘cos he’s the latest flamed subject I’ve come across after all the “discussions” I read pertainin’ to the sexuality of the actors in Asian Boys Vol. 3.

I think it’s just plain mean that people would engage in such abhorrent bitchin’ about anyone, not just those who are in the public eye (no, I’m not a celebrity, but I am the subject of my own “fair” share of gossip, sobz).

What I’m tryin’ to say is, for any person, what gives us the right to subject them to any form of verbal whipping? Are we really such saints ourselves? Worse, if you don’t even know the person on a personal basis, and yet join in the barrage (not that I’m sayin’ it is ok if you are an acquaintance).

It’s not just about respecting others.

It’s also about respecting yourself (honestly, would you be capable of viewing a person who does such things in a positive light?), and havin’ a clean conscience. 

“Do(Do not do) unto others what you would (not) want others to do unto you.”

Admire your eyecandy, or if he ain’t your cup of tea, engage in healthy doses of “honesty” (as people always like to justify their critique), but just don’t stoop to the level of insulting others/makin’ harmful claims, ya?

P.S. Slightly off-topic, but I don’t quite get what 99th_pilgrim means when he says “saying every cute guy is gay… seems like a sick way of justifying one’s insecurities”? I thought it just shows one’s inner lust, and perhaps some self-affirmation too! ^>^
